About Ali

Ali Simpson is a candidate for Tennessee State House District 32, which represents Roane County and Lenoir City. She operates a small farm with her family in Ten Mile.

Ali’s Experience

  • On the board of Southeast Tennessee Young Farmers Coalition: Ali Advocates for sustainable agriculture policy and resources for young and beginning farmers

  • Americorps alum with Habitat for Humanity

  • Former program coordinator with SCORE and the Small Business Administration (SBA), where she worked to establish programs that provide free education and resources to aspiring entrepreneurs.

  • Small farm operator: growing and selling veggies, wrasslin’ animals, wearing many (straw) hats.

Ali's experience in these roles has shown her that this country is abundant with folks who have the grit, drive, and know-how to lift up themselves and their communities. With the right support, like access to affordable health care, a man in her community could start what would become a regional composting business from the back of his pickup truck. With a weatherized home and a lower heating bill, a family she served at Habitat could save a little more for their future. With a small grant, a farmer can produce fresh, healthy food for schools and food banks.

Ali’s Goals

  1. Fight for policies that improve the health, freedom and empowerment of the people.

  2. Reverse the ongoing and shameless transfer of public wealth to corporations and special interests, and return that wealth to the hands of the people.

Platform

End Citizens United with States Rights!

The battle for a better future will not be won unless we take back control from corporations. The Citizens United Supreme Court decision has proved disastrous for our politics and has supplanted our voices with the agenda of a wealthy few.

Tennessee has the power to fight back. In summary, states have the power to define what corporations as an entity can do, regardless of where the corporation is headquartered—and that includes whether they can make political donations. Montana has already stepped forward with a 2026 constitutional initiative to redefine corporate power. If elected, I pledge to do everything I can to get this on the ballot.
